QUAD Launches Major COVID19 Fundraiser

As COVID19 continues to complicate the future work of many charities and cultural venues across the UK, QUAD is turning to its loyal customers, supporters, partners and communities for help in a new campaign to raise money to help Open Our Doors after lockdown.

Our Open Our Doors fundraiser includes a number of different ways that YOU can support us to continue the great work we do across the city, region and beyond.

QUAD is home to a number of different strands of activity. Alongside its cinema, gallery and café bar, QUAD also runs special programmes of activity for groups and communities, including reduced-price screenings for families, Supportive Environment screenings for people with additional needs, social and creative sessions for over-50s, and Q Club – a Children In Need supported programme of workshops for young people on the autistic spectrum.

In a time where people have been so isolated, our mission to reconnect people and focus on positive mental health and wellbeing once our doors have reopened has never been more crucial. We love our communities. We love our city. And we want to continue to share art, film, stories, learning and opportunities the way we always have – but we need YOUR HELP.

We’ve set up a number of ways you can support us, and in return, we’d like to thank you for your contribution:

• QClub Totebag & Thank You – £10

Donate Now

To thank you for your contribution, we would like to give you a totebag designed by QUAD’s QClub Young People’s group (Supported by BBC Children In Need), and a thank you message from the QUAD Team.

Your totebag and message will be ready to collect from QUAD once our building has reopened.

• Wall Of Thanks –

Now Closed

To thank you for your contribution, we would like to include your name to our ‘Wall Of Thanks’.

QUAD’s ‘Wall Of Thanks’ will feature the names of all who have donated and supported us through COVID-19 to reopen our doors after what seems to be our most challenging time to date. This wall will be a permanent feature to QUAD, and will sit on the 1st floor of our building and will serve as a reminder that our community, our customers and our supporters are what keeps QUAD alive – and that you were there for us when we needed you the most! This wall will be available to view when QUAD reopens its building.

• Your Name On A Seat 2020/2021 (Single)* – £100

Donate Now

To thank you for your contribution, we would like to dedicate a custom metal plaque to a single seat in one of our cinemas.

Whether you want your full name, or something more discreet like ‘The Jones Family’, this plaque will serve as a thank you for your contribution in helping to support QUAD through COVID-19 and what seems to be our most challenging time to date. Your donation not only supports QUAD’s mission to bring international art and film to Derby, but also helps contribute to our schools, community, young people’s programme and more.

Once you have paid for your sponsored seat, you will receive a confirmation email and will be contacted by a member of our team at the earliest convenience to help you choose which seat number you would like, and what you would like engraved on your plaque. This plaque will remain on display on your chosen seat for one year from the date of QUAD’s reopening, after which, you will be given the option to renew the sponsorship on your chair.

Professor Brian Walsh, Chair of QUAD’s Board of Trustees

“Opening a year before the financial crisis, we’ve been subjected to ever-reducing funding streams. During that time, we’ve brought joy to our city, with almost a million cinema ticket sales and some of the world’s greatest contemporary artists, and we’ve helped to develop new skills for a generation of Derby schoolchildren and students.”

Adam Buss, QUAD’s Chief Executive Officer

“Through the ‘Open Our Doors’ scheme, we are inviting our customers and patrons to help us through this unprecedented crisis. Together, we will open our doors again, and continue to contribute to Derby’s fantastic cultural offer.”

*We will be contacting all purchasers of seat sponsorship from July 1st to identify your preferred location of your seat plaque, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note that QUAD operates on an unreserved seating basis, and this is not a seat reservation scheme.

If you are a business, and you would like to have your business name on a seat plaque – thank you for your support! We are required to treat this as advertising and not as a donation, and therefore we have to charge VAT on the expense. Please contact Alex Rock (alexr@derbyquad.co.uk) to reserve your seat; we will then invoice your business for the sponsorship.

QUAD is a registered charity.
