With the festive season upon us, Derby QUAD have announced their festive campaign, QUADmas.
QUADmas 2023 will bring audiences a wide festive offering with generous helpings of cinema, festive food & drink, visual arts and workshops.
Kicking off the festive season in style is the cinema programme which will treat audiences to a seasonal film each day between 1st and 24th December. The festive film programme is as follows: Edward Scissorhands (1st – 4th December), Bell, Book and Candle (3rd – 7th December), National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (8th-10th December), White Christmas (11th – 14th December), Scrooged (15th – 18th December), Elf (16th – 17th December), It’s A Wonderful Life (19th – 24th December), Die Hard (22nd – 24th December), The Muppet Christmas Carol (22nd – 24th December) and Arthur Christmas (23rd December).
Back by popular demand, cheeky chaps The Lost Boys will join QUAD for family-friendly rendition of A Christmas Carol (8th – 9th December). This special production weaves live performance with cinematic projections to bring new life to the time-travelling, spectre-filled festive adventure.
In the gallery, The Cathedral Quarter Christmas Grotto (9th – 22nd December) and Northern Lights Experience will transport you to a festive wonderland beyond your wildest imagination. For just £4 per ticket, children will meet the main man himself, Santa, and receive an arts-based gift to take home. Festive photo stations will also be set up in the Northern Lights Experience to enjoy while you wait.
If you want to make this Christmas one to remember, QUAD also have limited tickets available for their Breakfast with Santa event (09th Dec – 17th Dec). This experience not only includes a hot breakfast buffet surrounded by the Northern Lights Gallery experience, but it is followed by a visit to The Cathedral Quarter Grotto, includes a short story and gift from Santa all for £10 for children (under 2s free) and £12 for adults.
Elsewhere, throughout the festive season the QUAD café bar will be a cosy hub for those sheltering from the cold weather with a hot drink from the festive drink menu including specialty teas and naughty but nice hot chocolate. Scheduled workshops will continue to run throughout the festive period, many of which will include a festive twist.
Finally, QUAD are asking you to give the gift of the arts this Christmas with their wide range of gift options available. These include a range of gift vouchers including a ‘cine supper for two’ and ‘annual membership’. Similarly, QUAD are offering the opportunity for patrons to sponsor their favourite seat and have their name featured on a plaque. For that person who has everything, QUAD also offers donations to be made in the name of a loved one to support the venue.
