2026 marks 100 years since the birth of one of Poland’s greatest filmmakers, Andrzej Wajda. Recipient of every major international film honour, including the Palme d’Or and Academy Honorary Award, Wajda’s influence on Polish cinema is undisputed. He has also influenced global cinematic greats such as Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola. Often situated within specific moments of Polish history and exploring how historical events shape an individual and a nation, Wajda was also equally committed to portraying complex human relationships.
Events around the world this year will give audiences the chance to explore some of his most significant works. QUAD will be screening 3 films by Andrzej Wajda.
Each screening including an introduction and post-film discussion.
