Workshops for Adults
16th Feb
MBD (Metro Boulot Dodo) in partnership with QUAD leads this two day programme on the 16th & 17th of February exploring the creative possibilities of real time games engine Unreal 5 and what it can mean to visual arts practice. By clicking on the booking link below you will be able to book for the two days of the course.
A staple in the worldwide games industry, Unreal 5 is fast becoming a key tool in the creation of new contemporary artwork and immersive artistic experiences.
Over two days at QUAD’s Digital Studio, immersive storytellers MBD will share 25 years of experience in using technology in the arts and heritage sectors, taking artists through the processes of using creative skills in Unreal 5 and the creation of immersive experiences.
Artists will hear from MBD’s leading professionals on how they create digital immersive storytelling, as well as get hands-on with the software and devices used in this exciting area of developing practice.
Practical elements of this course will include the use of the Unreal 5 games engine: what it is and what it can be used for. Artists will also develop new skills in creating real time 3D environments, sequencing, particle basics, post-processing, showing work in VR and more.
This is an introductory course that is open to all skill levels.
Tickets: £45 (standard), £36 (concessions). This covers Friday 16 and Saturday 17 February.
