Pianist Ritsuki’s life takes an unexpected turn when he suddenly develops unexplained hand tremors, putting an end to his career. Having devoted his entire life to the piano, he finds himself in despair.
Searching for a way to overcome this setback, he stumbles upon a flyer for a clearing service that specialises in clearing out cluttered houses. Ritsuki decides to join this unique cleaning crew. Led by a boss and meeting clients with various personal issues, this job brings Ritsuki to witness an unimaginable world—the life of hoarders. Ritsuki, through this unusual career path, not only confronts mountains of trash but also unravels dark secrets, shedding light on the lives of people living on the fringes of Japanese society.
From a school teacher who cannot declutter to an old man who is determined to live with rubbish despite massive complaints from neighbours, this omnibus-style films portrays those people who live in one community and with one unerasable habit of hoarding. They may not remember what they keep, but the clutter represents a pile of their memories.
