Fright Club presents a double bill of two of the best recent films to emerge from the American indie horror scene.
Malum (18)
Dir: Anthony DiBlasi USA 2023 93m
When a rookie police officer willingly takes the last shift at a newly decommissioned police station in an attempt to uncover the mysterious connection between her father’s death and a vicious cult, she begins experiencing paranormal occurrences that could lead her down the gory path to finding the answers.
Starring British actress Jessica Sula (Skins, Split), Malum is a supernatural horror re-imagining of their 2014 feature Last Shift, writers Anthony Diblasi (also director) and Scott Poiley up the ante at every level to bring a frightening and bloody new face of evil to the big screen.
Hunt Her Kill Her (15)
Dir: Greg Swinson and Ryan Thiessen. USA. 2022. 89m.
An atmospheric and tense thriller, Hunt Her Kill Her finds a lone night shift janitor in an unexpected fight for survival during her first night on the job when she becomes a target of sinister masked intruders. As their disturbing motives become clearer, she must use barbaric violence to make it through the night alive.
Featuring a committed and physical performance from Natalie Terrazzino as Karen the night shift janitor, Hunt Her Kill Her is an inventive horror from directors Greg Swinson (also writer) and Ryan Thiessen that ratchets up the tension with each kill.
This event will include an introduction from Fright Club’s Darrell Buxton.
