“Comes out of left field, has no big stars, didn’t cost much, takes chances, dares to be unconventional, is funny, and works” – Roger Ebert
A sci-fi punk mash-up in which a teenage punk comes up against some of L.A.s finest weirdos when he takes a job as a car repossessor. British director Alex Cox’s debut feature film, starring Emilio Estevez and Harry Dean Stanton, features a cast of characters made up of young punks and disillusioned salary-men, all dropping in and out of a wild plot that fires off in a countless unexpected directions, resulting in one of the most quotable films of the 1980s.
The screening at 6pm on Tuesday 28 May will include an introduction from QUAD’s Film & Marketing Officer Peter Munford.
